Mardès, a house of publishing, culture, and transmission
Mardès is an inclusive and modern house that edits poetry collections, essays, magazines, and works on the art of living. It also creates cultural and artistic events that foster reflection and sharing.
Its mission is twofold: to edit and to transmit — transmitting poetry, thought, and the gestures of daily life that ease existence and enrich sensitivity.
Through its support, several Musarthis contents remain freely available, affirming a generous and elegant vision of culture.

This article is offered freely, with the support of Mardès, Swiss publishing and cultural house, and Marlena’s Code, Swiss house of elegance and poetic high perfumery.

His discretion is commensurate with his talent. This poetic being, of authentic sensitivity and an elegance clothed in simplicity, has made his home in the heights of the Neuchâtel mountains: Luca Solari.

The work of Luca Solari has its own cadence; it comes to life through photography and music.

From these lands steeped in history and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Luca Solari creates and expresses, through his art, his perception of the living world.

His work speaks of his respect for life, for others, for every singularity. His cultural heritage and his life in Switzerland have shaped in him a profound humanity. When he takes photographs, it is his very being that expresses the unspeakable, the invisible, and captures the human in what is most particular to it.

The black-and-white photographs of this great man, who grew up between several corners of the world, reveal a universality that some would not know how to name, but which I call the Infinities; the Infinities as a Poecaris, to poeticise existence and celebrate all humanities.

Through his lens, he delivers in every capture the smallest common denominator that runs through all of humanity: the quest for Beauty. That is what I sense when I look at his work, when I gaze at this book before me, La Forteresse, and the texts of Mathijs Deen, which pay full homage to his universe.

To speak with Luca Solari is to have a singular encounter.

The book La Forteresse by Luca Solari is a melody of life, a recital of poetic lightness. After savouring the moments offered by this work, one thought remains: la vita è bella, despite everything that unfolds within it.

Here follows the poem La Forteresse by L.S.

Dunes.

Of a softness of fantasised femininity

Counterpoint of a chaotic world.

Against the light of the crests, there surge

The swirls of sand carried by the wind

And lay upon the island a mantle of virginity.

Behind a blade of grass, sheltered from the wind,

The grains of sand have found refuge.

Without resistance, they gathered together

Then rose, ever higher.

Billions of particles of one same thing,

A fortress.

Dunes.

Sentinels of a land engaged in an endless battle,

Upon your flanks,

Like the gnarled arms of sailors of old,

You bear the marks of it. One day, however, old weary lions,

You will depart, yielding your place

To your vigorous descendants.
