Mardès, a house of publishing, culture, and transmission
Mardès is an inclusive and modern house that edits poetry collections, essays, magazines, and works on the art of living. It also creates cultural and artistic events that foster reflection and sharing.
Its mission is twofold: to edit and to transmit — transmitting poetry, thought, and the gestures of daily life that ease existence and enrich sensitivity.
Through its support, several Musarthis contents remain freely available, affirming a generous and elegant vision of culture.

This article is offered freely, with the support of Mardès, Swiss publishing and cultural house, and Marlena’s Code, Swiss house of elegance and poetic high perfumery.

NEB is a Geneva-based writer, poet and novelist. Between Europe and Africa, he has written for several beauty and luxury houses, as well as for several magazines.
His poetry is also imbued with his passion for art, through poetic writing, music and the visual arts.
As an author, he has chosen anonymity.
“As an author of poems, I believe that nothing should overshadow artistic creations. I therefore prefer to remain in the shadows so that only my poetic writings may stand in the spotlight.”
Here is a two-in-one poem by NEB:
In this poem, two poems merge: the verses in italics form a poem in themselves, memory, and the verses in bold form a second poem, absence. Like conjoined twins, they are two entities sharing the same body, memory and absence. There are therefore three levels of reading. The image evokes this laughing, vibrant woman whom the author remembers and whose absence he regrets.

Memories and Absence

When I still hear your laughter
Through the cracks of Time
When the sound of your life
Refuses evanescence
Comes to perfume my memories
When silence grows within me
I feel how much I miss your words
I feel, in absence, a gentle presence
Despite the indehiscence of my emotions
With flavours both bitter and suave

Indehiscence: a word taken from botany, used here to evoke the act of keeping one’s emotions inside oneself.
